Dr. Ramazan Topcu is an Associate Professor in the Department of General Surgery at Hitit University, Turkey. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine from Karadeniz Technical University and completed his specialization in Surgical Medicine at the University of Health Sciences, Ankara Numune Health Research Center. His doctoral thesis, titled “Retrospective Analysis of Acute Left Colon Obstructions Due to Colorectal Cancer,” was supervised by Prof. Hüseyin Berkem. Dr. Topcu has supervised several theses, including Şahin Fatih’s 2023 study on the diagnostic value of laboratory parameters in differentiating acute diverticulitis from acute epiploic appendagitis. He is actively involved in international research, serving as a researcher in the “Appendicitis Global Outcomes (AlliGatOr) Study,” led by Dr. Veysel Barış Turhan. Dr. Topcu has contributed to numerous publications in reputable journals, focusing on topics such as colorectal surgery, appendicitis, and gallbladder diseases. His work has been recognized with awards like the “Calısma Basarı Belgesi” from the Ministry of Interior in 2019.
